Autumn, somewhere in the countryside in England. A peaceful night, the stars high in the sky. A strange light hovers amidst the stars, before sending a streak of light – a meteor – down to earth.

 

Five friends from university drive out of the city for a hedonistic weekend camping in the wilds. OTIS, sensitive and quiet, has a special connection with CHLOE. Chloe’s aggressive boyfriend, JOSH, banters with NIKI and ANNA, a freewheeling, hippy couple who lead the group.

 

The group arrives in a remote forest and set up their camp for the weekend. Niki has brought a cornucopia of drugs which they are planning on experimenting with over the weekend. Otis and Josh venture out to find some fuel for the fire. As they search the tensions between them emerge, and Josh threatens Otis. Otis discovers a small, 15cm GLASS ORB buried in the foliage, which he takes it back to the campground.

 

After dinner, around the campfire, the group smoke weed and tell stories about their lives. Niki is keen to take some magic mushrooms. Through the conversation Otis learns that the rest of the group knew that his ex-girlfriend was cheating on him for a year. He explodes and storms off. Naturally, Chloe goes to comfort him, much to Josh’s chagrin. Chloe persuades Otis to come back to the campfire and the group all take Niki’s mushrooms.

 

The night descends into a maelstrom of dancing, fun and excitement.

Otis emerges from the hallucinogenic fog to find… the campsite is deserted. The orb rests on the ground in front of him. He lifts it up and stares into the glass.

 

A cluster of dancing, multi-coloured lights appears inside the orb.  Is it in his head? Or is it real? The light emerges from the glass and flies into his mouth, disappearing inside him. Otis begins to spasm and passes out.

 

Otis’ consciousness goes on a journey through time and space, experiencing the vast emptiness of the universe and beyond. Time seems to warp and twist, as the alien attaches itself to Otis’ being.

The next morning, Otis awakes to find himself undergoing sensory changes. As he adjusts to his new abilities, the party continues. 

​

But the alien inside Otis is just getting started, and the rest of the group are next in its sights.
